KENNY, Daniel Kenny, 92, of Woodstock, GA passed away August 29,2020. He was born on December 19, 1927 to the late Frank and Clara Kenny in Brooklyn, NY. After his graduation from high school, Daniel joined the US Navy to serve his country in WWII as a Coxswain in the Pacific Theatre where he received an honorable discharge and awarded the Pacific Theater Liberation, American Theater, Philippine Liberation ribbons and the Victory Medal. He was employed by Automatic Switch Co of Florham Park, New Jersey where he was an Assistant foreman in the tool and die department from 1947 until he retired in 1984. Daniel married his sweetheart, Harriet G. Kenny in 1951 at Brooklyn’s St. Patrick’s Church. After their marriage Daniel & Harriet moved to West Orange, NJ and then to South Plainfield, NJ, where they raised Their 6 children, After Daniel retired moved to Whiting, NJ . In 2003 Daniel & Harriet moved to Woodstock, GA. Daniel was a devout Catholic. He will be missed by all who knew him. Daniel was preceded in death by his daughters, Jeanmarie Yaun and Maureen J. Kenny, His Sisters Marion Fanuele ,Clare Burden, Bernadette O’Gorman and Brother Gerard . survived by , children, Joan Varkoly (Peter), Daniel Kenny, Jr. (Karen), Patrick Kenny (Michelle) and Timothy Kenny (Joan), 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces & nephews.
A Memorial Mass Will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 11:00am at the Catholic Church of St. Ann, in Marietta, GA (Due to COVID-19 protocols, attendance is for registered guests. All guests will be required to wear a face mask and social distancing will be observed.) The Memorial Mass will be live-streamed and available to view long after the mass as well. A second Memorial Mass followed by an Internment immediately after on Saturday September 26, 2020 @ 10:45am at the Catholic Church of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton 30 Schoolhouse road Manchester Twsp, NJ .
