David CARTER
25 February, 1971 – 24 September, 2022

David Reed Carter 51 of Marietta died after a fall. He was born in Meridian, MS and spent most of his early years in Augusta, Marietta and Albany Georgia. He graduated high school from Riverside Military Academy, and has a BS degree from Auburn University where he was a member of SAE fraternity. His work as a Horticulturist took him to Denver for a few years then back to Marietta.
He is survived by his parents: Linda Stephens Carter and husband Bill Clark and David Key Carter and wife Melinda Kight Carter, sisters: Kristen Carter and Betsy Campbell Ballard (Gary), brothers: Russell Campbell (Laura) and Tyler Clark (Danyell), niece: Claire Campbell, Nephews: Jackson Campbell and Carter Campbell. He was preceded in death by his brother Stephen Carter and his grandparents Mack and Arlene Olson Stephens of Montgomery, AL and Reed and Mildred Harrington Carter of Hattiesburg, MS.
David loved being outdoors hunting, fishing and skiing, and tending to his own garden. He enjoyed Music, Auburn football and spending time with family and his many friends.
The family thanks the doctors and nurses at Northside Hospital ICU for their care and compassion.
The funeral service will be held Monday Oct. 10, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter and St. Paul Episcopal Church, 1795 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30062. Visitation with family prior to service 9:40 – 10:20 AM in the church Parish Hall.
