Edwin F. Schmidt

Edwin F. Schmidt passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. Edwin bravely battled pancreatic cancer for two years. Edwin was an amazing husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He was known as Eddie, dada, grandpa, butch, pork, Mr. Schmidt and chef.

Edwin was an award winning executive Chef, CEC and accomplished culinarian. He was a member of the AAC ( American Academy of Chefs) . He was the best example of a perfect husband, father, grandfather and brother. Edwin is survived by his soul mate, best friend, the love of his life, his wife, Victoria Eugenia Schmidt and Edwin leaves behind a great legacy of three children, Gerald William Schmidt, Maria Luisa Schmidt Delao, Carolina Victoria Schmidt, eight grandchildren; Amber, Alejandro, Gabriella, Cristina, William, Jackson, Jaydn, and Justn. Two great grandchildren; Isabella, and Gabriel. Two brothers; Robert Schmidt, Gary Schmidt, two sisters; Mary Long and Linda Dixon as well as countless other family and friends. Edwin was also a parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church and was dedicated with the Knights of Columbus.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 21st at 11am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3401 Lower Roswell Road in Marietta. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Knights of Columbus Wheel Chair Fund at gakofc.org.
