Gina Marie Cassady, aged 88, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025. She was born in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where she later married her childhood sweetheart, Terrance "Terry" Cassady. Together, they began a family and eventually settled in Laurel, Maryland.
Gina dedicated over 20 years to teaching elementary school while raising their two children. After retiring early, she and Terry moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where they enjoyed playing golf and embracing coastal life. Gina’s passion for education led her back to the classroom, where she taught for another decade. Sadly, Terry passed away in 2005.
Gina was a gifted homemaker and a woman of many passions. She enjoyed sewing for loved ones, reading voraciously, and gardening. Her culinary talents were especially evident in her beloved Italian dishes and her holiday feasts. She and Terry also loved hosting cookouts and gatherings for their friends and neighbors. Above all, Gina cherished time spent with her family, and she took great pride in her grandchildren.
A devout Catholic, Gina was a long-time member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Gina lived in Myrtle Beach for more than 35 years before relocating to a care facility in Marietta, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terrance Hart Cassady; her parents, Francesca and Paul Camacci; her sister, Martha Cassady; and her brother, Damiano Camacci.
Gina is survived by her son, Martin (Amy) Cassady of Marietta, GA; her daughter, Kay (Rick) Cassady-Beyer of Myrtle Beach, SC; and her three grandchildren: Christina Smith, Rebecca Cassady, and Nathan Cassady. She also leaves behind extended family and dear friends who will continue to cherish her memory.
A memorial service to celebrate Gina’s life will be held at a later date.
Gina’s warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
