Harold “Sonny” Eckert, the quintessential family man, died peacefully in his home with his wife by his side on October 30, 2015 after a long struggle with Dementia. An architect by trade, he brought beauty into this world professionally and personally. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He loved to travel, sail and play tennis. Sonny lived life well and was always ready for an adventure. One of his young grandchildren named him “the good guy” and that he truly was. Sonny is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patty; his sister Marilyn Cleanthes of Vermont; his daughters Kellie Eckert Reifenberger and her husband Drew of Atlanta, GA and Tricia Eckert Woodruff and her husband Jay of Chicago, IL; his son Chris Eckert of San Diego, CA and six grandchildren. Services will be Friday, November 6 at 2:00pm at The Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Georgia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association
