Jerry Henson, 82 of Marietta, passed away November 3, 2011. Mr. Henson was retired after 21 years in US Air Force, serving as a recruiter in Marietta for 4 years. While in service, he helped design and develop the first UNIVAC systems.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen C. Henson, of Marietta; daughter, Sherry (husband, Kim) Clark, of Douglasville; grandson, Steven Lee Clark; brother, Horace Henson, of Griffin; sisters, Jeanette Landers, of Griffin, and Juanita Pelt, of Augusta; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Cancer Society or a Children’s Fund of your choice.
