Issa Saleh Akley

Issa Saleh Akley was born on July 2, 1936 in Amman, Jordan to Saleh Issa Akley and Zakia Deeb Akley. He was the eldest of 6 children. Issa attended school in Terra Sancta, Amman, Jordan and then college in Schifferstadt, Germany where he obtained a degree in Engineering and graduated March 16, 1964. From there he worked on engines for Daimler-Benz in Stuttgart, Germany. In 1975 Issa met and married his wife Hiam Abu Aqleh in Kuwait then lived in Dubai, UAE for 9 years. In 1984 Issa and his family moved to Marietta, Georgia to raise their two children Saleh Issa Akley and Ramsey Issa Akley.

Issa was of the Greek Orthodox faith and spent the last few years sharing with others his faithfulness for God. He received his last rights one day prior to his passing by Rev. Dr. Michael A Tishel.

Issa enjoyed spending time with his family and grandson Jackson Issa Akley. Issa would be described as stubborn yet very generous as he helped many people throughout his life. His family and friends knew him as a very headstrong and important figure in their lives and remember him as a very witty and humorous individual. Issa loved to travel and has often told stories of growing up in Jordan, Rama and his experiences in Germany as a young man.

Issa Saleh Akley is survived by his wife Hiam Akley, sons Ramsey Akley, Saleh Akley, daughter-in-Law Ashley Akley, grandson Jackson Issa Akley, siblings Afaf Akly, Isam Akly, Aida Jarkas, Tony Akly and Tina Whitehouse.

Mr. Akley's Funeral Services will be held at Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church; 3431 Trickum Road; Marietta; Georgia; 30066.

Following his funeral service, Mr. Akley, will be Entombed, on the grounds of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Parkway S.E., Marietta, Georgia, 30060
