

James “Jim” Christopher Bussart, age 78, passed away on May 24, 2022 in Marietta, Georgia. Son of the late Walter Bussart and Elizabeth Johnston Bussart, Jim was born on July 9, 1943 in Athens, Tennessee.
Jim married the love of his life, Deborah Snyder on February 11, 1967. They spent the next fifty-five years together before his passing. Two years after they married, Jim joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served as an air traffic controller for four years. He also courageously fought in the Vietnam War. Later in life, Jim became a member of the Altanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association “AVVBA.” In this organization, Jim was always very happy to greet our soldiers at the airport as they came home.
In his spare time, Jim enjoyed playing golf, reading and solving crossword puzzles. Above all, he loved to spend quality time with his family.
Jim received his Bachelor’s Degree in political science from the Washington and Lee University, Master’s Degree from the Columbia University in the City of New York and his J.D. Law Degree from the Atlanta Law School. He ran his own practice, Bussart Law Firm of Georgia. Jim was loved dearly and will be deeply missed.
Along with his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Rumsey and brother, Robbie Shearer.
He is survived by wife, Deborah Bussart; son, Tim Bussart; daughter, Suzanne La Forgia; grandchild, Jesse La Forgia; brother-in-law, Terry (Georgia) Snyder; and extended family members and friends to cherish his legacy.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 18, 2022 at two o’clock in the afternoon at Eastminster Presbyterian Church of Marietta, 3125 Sewell Mill Rd., Marietta, Georgia. A reception at the church will follow.
