
Corcoran, James Frederick, age 83 of Marietta, GA passed away on February 3, 2011, after a long and fulfilling life. Fred grew up in Savannah, Georgia, graduated from Georgia State University and moved his family to Atlanta in the 1970’s. The coastal lowlands of Savannah always held a special place in Fred’s heart. Fred was a United States Air Force veteran and was retired from Union Camp Paper Co. Fred was the proud father of five children and enjoyed walking or “Mcstriding” as a hobby.
Fred was predeceased by the mother of his children, Catherine Corcoran. Fred is survived by his loving wife, Ethelyn Corcoran; their “adopted” daughter, Sherry Payne; his children, Wiley Corcoran, Maryellen Andreasen, and her husband, Gary; Christopher Corcoran; James Corcoran, and his wife, Leigh Ann; and Katherine Melton and her husband, Roger. Fred also leaves behind his grandchildren and one great-grandchild; Catherine Michaud and her husband Patrick; Jennifer Selman and her husband Chris; John Mangrum, Scott Mangrum, Britini and Blake Corcoran; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 11:00am at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Veterans Cemetery Rd, Canton, Georgia 30114. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 6th from 3-6 pm and Monday, February 7th from 3-6pm at the funeral home.
