

LUCAS, Jean Dixon, 89, Marietta, GA, 11/5/14, formerly of Laurel Park, NC, and the Twin Cities area died after a sudden illness. She showed great style, wisdom and courage throughout her life and in her decision to die on her own terms on her final day on earth. She was a graduate of Mpls Southwest and the U of M School of Journalism and worked part time as an ad copywriter for Dayton’s and Target. Her primary role was as an adoring, devoted wife and the most nurturing, sweet mom to her children. Her family and countless friends appreciated her homemaking, entertaining and distinctive decorating skills (think blue everything) and her uncanny ability to brighten up everywhere she went. Her positive attitude and inner strength shined through every day, throughout a life that experienced significant family tragedy, in addition to great joy. Survived by children Mark (Judy) Lucas, Elk River, MN, Nancy (Lee) Earhart, Marietta, GA, daughter in law Patty Lucas-Hadaway (Randy), 9 grandchildren, and a large group of extended family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband Daniel (Boone), sons James, Paul, Vincent and granddaughter Elizabeth. Memorial service at Christ Church, 15849 90th St NE, Otsego, MN on Sat. 11/22/14 at noon, visitation at 11 am. Burial at St Patrick’s Cemetery, Corcoran, MN. Memorials preferred to Mercy Ministries, Nashville, TN
