Jimmy Nathan Whittaker, age 80, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. Jimmy was born August 28, 1939 to the late James Madison Whittaker and Ruth Adkisson Whittaker in Slocomb, Alabama.
Jimmy enlisted in the U.S. Army on his 18th birthday. He served from August 28, 1957 to August 26, 1960. Following his service, he attended the University of Alabama and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business. He went on to own and operate American Locators, Inc., a vending location business. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing, coaching, watching and everything baseball! He also loved cheering on the Crimson Tide.
Jimmy is survived by his wife N. Vonnell Whittaker; three children - Amy (Paul) Foster, Fonda (Jonathan) Semerjian and J. Yancey (Amy) Whittaker; eleven grandchildren - Rachel, Meghan & David Foster, Elijah, Van, Micah & Joel Semerjian, Benjamin, Samuel, Alex & Owen Whittaker, sister Jane Padgett and family and brother-in-law Stacy (Kim) Alred.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 27th, 2020 during the hours of 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 at 11 am with Rev. Joe Nilsen officiating.
A private interment will be held at Georgia National Cemetery which will include an honor ceremony. Due to Cov19, the burial is limited to the family only.
