

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend cherished for her sunny personality and playful spirit. She shared so much love and laughter with her children and grandchildren and with everyone who knew her. She loved travel, visiting many amazing places with her late husband, family, and friends. She was a gifted artist and beloved teacher with over 30 years’ experience in public school education in Georgia, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Virginia. Joan was an active member of Grace Resurrection Methodist Church in Marietta, GA, leading the Hands of Grace Bible Study. She was a bright and friendly person who was very engaged in her community at Brookhaven of East Cobb. An avid bridge player, pickleball and golf enthusiast. A thoughtful neighbor and friend. She will be dearly missed.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Kenneth Eaton, her sister Mary Cale and brothers Buddy and Otho Keenam. Surviving are her daughters Lisa Ann (Steve) Krepich of Leesburg, VA and Teri Eaton Cloud of Atlanta, GA and son, Kenneth Scott (Naomi) Eaton of Great Falls, MT; her sister, Ida Lee Joiner of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren Hannah, Lindsay and Stephen Krepich, Charlotte and Jackson Cloud, and Savannah and Hudson Eaton along with many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at noon at Grace Resurrection Methodist Church in Marietta, GA. The family will receive friends and family in the Fellowship Hall directly afterward.
