John F. Murray, 69 of Marietta, GA passed away October 8, 2012. He was born in Cincinnati, OH on April 16, 1943 to the late John T. and Cecelia Murray. He was a graduate from North Carolina State and enjoyed a career as a chemical sales representative. After moving to Marietta in 1976, he became very involved at Transfiguration Catholic Church. He coached special needs baseball with The Challengers, loved teaching children’s Sunday school and was an avid train collector. John is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marie Murray, son, Patrick Murray (Shelia), daughters, Colleen Pope (Clint) and Karen Stoner (Mark), 6 grandchildren and sisters, Julie Spohr, Eileen Winchell and Pat Schmidt. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00am at Transfiguration Catholic Church. A wake will be on Wednesday from 7:00-9:00pm at the church.
