Marcella Wenning

Mrs. Marcella Wenning, age 85, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011. Born in Springfield, MA in 1926, Marcella graduated from Sacred Heart High School where she painted the Baptismal Mural in Sacred Heart Church. She went on to attend business school in the Springfield area while pursuing her interest in the theater, the arts, and ballet. In 1950, she married the late Robert Wenning of Cambridge, MA and resided with her family in East Longmeadow, MA for 25years before moving to Marietta GA in 1975. A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Wenning was preceded in death by her father, Peter Francis Filion; her mother Brigid Manning Filion; her brothers, Lawrence and Maurice Filion; her sister, Nora Dumas; her husband, Robert Joseph Wenning; and a son, Robert Joseph Wenning, Jr. She is survived by daughters, Karen W. Moore, Paula and (Stuart) Parenteau, and Lisa and (Michael) Hoffman; grandchildren, Rachael Cory, Michael Hoffiman, Jr, Dameren Parenteau, Kyle Parenteau, Thomas Wenning, Lisa Shipee and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Wenning; and niece Marcella Moreno. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9th at 2 pm in the chapel at H.M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
