Except for 2 years in Chicago, Illinois in the mid-1960s Marcie lived in Youngstown until 1979 followed by 40 years in Marietta, Georgia. She graduated from Youngstown State University. Go Penguins! Marcie was a career educator as a kindergarten teacher starting in 1960 in Youngstown and ending as owner and director of Come Play With Me Preschool in Marietta GA from 1979 - 2009. Her life’s work was preparing countless children to thrive when they entered elementary school. Her favorite years were when her 3 granddaughters attended Come Play With Me. Each has a love for school and learning formed during those precious years with their beloved Grandma. When the youngest granddaughter completed preschool Marcie retired immediately!
Marcie was strong, independent, faithful, and loving. She did what needed to be done and made do with what she had. Her faith was strong and evident by her devotion to her church. She always supported and sacrificed for her family. Despite our sadness we are lifted up knowing that she is at peace and finally getting well deserved rest.
