He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He retired from General Motors after spending 31 years.
Marvin is preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Betty Brown, grandson Robert Haygood, brother Ernest Brown and nephew Joe Brown.
He is survived by his son, Marvin Arnold Brown and fiancé Darlene Tarpley; daughter, Patricia Haygood; sister, Marlene Faith; grandchildren, Patty Donovan and her spouse, Elizabeth Mixon, Mandy Puryear and her spouse Robert Puryear, Kenneth Haygood and his spouse Heather Haygood, Rachael Younkin, Hannah Haynes and her spouse Michael Haynes; great grandchildren, Brannon, Bailey, Alysha, Nadya, Matthew, Trinity, Hunter, Jonah, Nathan, Spencer, Madelynn, Cameron, Kaylyn; numerous nieces and nephews, to include Cheryl Long and Loretta Estes.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home, interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
