Mary Elsie Trainer of Fairburn, GA, (formerly of Covington) peacefully passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016. A devoted forever wife of John Shipp Aycock, and survived by their beloved son and daughter, Elaine Aycock Zambroski, of Marietta, and John Jr. of Naples, FL, Mary has now been reunited with her husband, John, and son, Steven Arnold Aycock. Additionally, she is survived by her cherished granddaughters and great-grandchildren: Casey Carter of Smyrna and her husband, John, their children Sydney and Bryce, and Jennifer Aycock of McDonough and her children, Maddy, Christian and Lily. Mrs. Aycock was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church of Fairburn for 38 years and taught Sunday school. She is fondly remembered by those children for her guidance and Christian manner. Her family-supportive careers included manager at World Book Encyclopedia, manager with Stanley In-Home Products, and manager with the Fulton County School Board as Head Dietician. With her love for children and her passion for cooking, the years she spent with Fulton County Schools brought her great pride and joy. She was an avid gardener and grew beautiful flower gardens and bountiful fruit and vegetable gardens. Ms. Aycock loved nothing more than to open her home to family, friends, and neighbors and share her home-cooked meals, breads, pound cakes, and harvest from the garden. Their home was one that everyone loved to call on for a welcomed visit. Visitation will be Friday, May 20, 2016 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Services will be Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 10:30 AM.
