She was born May 13,1946, and was the youngest of four siblings. After graduating from Campbell High School, she worked for several development companies and retired from corporate Home Depot. During her career, she organized many corporate events and made lifelong friends. Mary Ellen never met a stranger and was always up for an adventure. She enjoyed card games, craft shows, and antique shopping, avidly collecting wall pockets and yard art. Nothing thrilled her more than a challenging project. Most of all, she loved her family and friends.
Mary Ellen is predeceased by her parents, Jay and Edna Foster, sister, Shirley Strickland, brother, Donald Foster, and daughter, Paige Rountree. She is survived by her brother, Richard Foster (Sally) and granddaughter, Cynthia Rountree, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Our family would like to thank our Visiting Angels and Bridgeway Hospice for their constant care during Mary Ellen’s illness.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
At Mary Ellen’s request, no funeral service will be held, however her wishes were for everyone “to have a party and drink a beer for me”.
