

Nancy D. Miller 73, a 40 year resident of Marietta, GA died Wednesday January 19, 2011 from an extended illness. Memorial services will be held at 1 pm, Monday January 24th at First United Methodist Church in Marietta.
Nancy was born in Lakewood, OH on September 8, 1937. She grew up in Bluefield, WV and graduated from Marshall University with a BA in Education. She also was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority. After graduation, Nancy married her high school sweetheart Mark L. Miller, her husband of 52 years.
Nancy served in her church First United Methodist in the Ruth Northcutt and Irma Little Circle, the Alter Guild, and was a two time recipient of the United Methodist Women’s Cross for Distinguished Service. Nancy also served in the Fox Hills Garden Club, the Homeowners Association, and was Chairperson for two consecutive years for the LPGA Pro/Am Golf Tournament held at Indian Hills.
Nancy will always be remembered for her fighting spirit during her extended illness as she never complained and was proud to say she knew the Cobb County EMT’s on a first name basis. She was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother with an infinite number of friends and a devout Christian.
In addition to her husband Mark, survivors include her daughters Robin M. Thompson (John) and Holly M. Ray (Michael) and grandchildren Morgan, Jessica, Mickulas, and Miley, a sister Jean D. Smith (Richard) of Roanoke, VA, brother-in-law Dick Miller (Lillian) of Hurricane, WV and sister-in-law Imogene M . Browning of Logan, WV.
