
Mr. N. Albert Jones, 87 of Marietta died Friday, July 27, 2012. Mr. Jones was a US Army Aircorps veteran, serving in Italy during WWII as a turret gunner in B24 Liberators. He retired from Lockheed after 30+ years of service. Albert was a member of Reeds Chapel Baptist Church in West Point, GA. Even though he lived in the city for many years, he still loved the country, which was evident by his love of tree farming. Mr. Jones still maintains tree farms in Harris and Troup Counties. Albert’s prize possession was his 1972 Ford Tractor. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jo Golden Jones; daughters, Cindy Jones Crowder and her husband Bob of Rocky Mount, NC; Cece Jones Ellis and her husband Bob of Marietta, GA; sister, Louise Jones Smith of LaGrange, GA; grandchildren, Kim Cary and her husband Matt, Scot Crowder and his wife Crystal, Megan Houck and her husband Nick, Amalie Acton and Tori Acton; great-grandchildren, Will and Emma Scot Cary, Liz and Nicholas Crowder. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at H.M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: Calvary Children’s Home, 1430 Lost Mountain Rd., Powder Springs, GA 30127 or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
