My Nana Ora was an absolute treasure. I will keep her in my heart always. She was wise, funny,caring, kind and loved me no matter what. Words can not describe the loss I feel. She was my grandmother but also my friend. I will miss her always but will cherish the wonderful memories.

My mama:

One of Mom's favorite sayings is "God is still on His throne".  I'm going to remember that.

I have known for a long time that my mama loves me BIG - even when I'm stupid, mean, wrong, careless or whatever. Her forgiveness is quick. I want to repeat that.

Growing up, Mom's protective instincts could be embarrassing. Heck, even at 60 she often offered to straighten someone out for me or mine. We'd say something to the equivalent of "...that person was mean" and you could see the outrage building in her eyes. She'd say "Do you want me to go down there and give them what for?! Because I will!"   It's nice to know that someone loves you to the point of being unreasonable. I'll miss that.

The trouble with living a long life is the losses you suffer, the worst being your people. I now see just how amazingly strong and brave and generous Mama has been even in suffering. I hope to develop that.

Mom loves a good piece of cake and coffee, Elvis, flowers, birds, a witty pun, a pretty pattern on paper plates ... but what made those things great was being able to share them with all of us. Thank you all for loving her, for calling, praying and visiting. We were her favorite part of being here. I agree with that.

So saddened to hear of the passing of Ora. We shared many members , entertainers unit Yaarab Shrine and Georgia mountain fairgrounds as well as many get togethers with she and Vernon .
Visited their vineyard in Homer and enjoyed the beauty . Rest In Peace ❤️❤️

I loved Nana O so incredibly much. Her wittiness and humor always amazed me and brought so much joy to me. Seeing her face light up when we would have family gatherings made them even better. I’m so glad Layla had such a wonderful woman to look up to in her life. You will forever be missed nana, until we meet again, we all love you.
