Otis Charles (O.C.) Johnson, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away at 6:45pm, Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Turkey Creek Medical Center, Farragut, Tennessee. He was 88 years old. Charles was born Saturday, November 11, 1933 in a one-room house in Tennille, Georgia. He was the oldest of five children.
He is survived by his sister Mildred Ruth (Reg) Dees of Port Wentworth, Georgia; sister-in-law Harriet Johnson (Minus) of Savannah, Georgia; sister-in-law Mary Jane Spencer-Hulme (Crothers) of Toledo, Ohio; three children: Richard (Donna) Johnson of Beavercreek, Ohio; David (Valerie) Johnson of Falls Church, Virginia; Linda (David) Peterson of Acworth, Georgia; and four grandchildren: Kaitlin (Zac) Randolph of Smyrna, Georgia; Alexander Johnson of Washington, D.C.; Vance Peterson of Marietta, Georgia; Evan Peterson of Marietta, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann Johnson (Spencer) (1933-2011), his sisters Catherine Sample and Sandra Taylor, and his brother Ray.
He graduated from Savannah High School in 1950 at 16 years of age. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia; Toledo, Ohio; Lakeland, Florida; and finally Marietta, Georgia to pursue his career in electrical contracting. Charles was an Atlanta business owner and the electrical construction services he offered were an integral part in the growth of many Atlanta businesses for over thirty years.
He touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are welcome to join the family for a visitation at the Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, Winkenhofer Chapel, at 2000 Cobb Parkway South, Marietta, Georgia 30060 on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and a funeral service on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00am.
