Paul Hardy

Known to most as just “Paul”, he was born in Dothan, Alabama to Arthur and Elizabeth Hardy on June 14th, 1942.

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Hardy; his parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Hardy; and his brother, Benny Hardy. He is survived by his children and their spouses: Larry and Jane Hardy, Teresa Richardson, Wanda and Steve Sumner, and Terry Hardy; seven grandchildren and their spouses; 13 great-grandchildren; and his brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Joann Doswell.

A man of quiet strength and steadfast faith, Paul found joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, family gatherings, laughter among friends, watching professional wrestling and other sports, and offering a helping hand whenever it was needed.

Paul’s professional life was equally remarkable. With more than 52 years of dedicated service at Orkin, he held nearly every role within the company. In his role prior to retirement as Senior Technical Director, he guided Orkin’s technical initiatives in termite and pest control services, equipment development, fumigation, treatments, and research and development.

Over the course of his career, he authored many articles and delivered presentations nationwide, sharing his knowledge generously with colleagues and industry professionals. His expertise and leadership earned him numerous accolades, including recognition as one of PCT Magazine’s “25 Most Influential People”, Professional of the Year, the Pioneer Award from the Georgia Pest Control Association, induction into the Pest Control Hall of Fame (2005), and multiple lifetime achievement awards from both state and national organizations.

Pallbearers will be Aaron and Andrew Sumner, Zach Hardy, Wayne Terry, Zach Becker, Derek Wood and Dakota Holt.

Funeral service will be held at the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta, Georgia 30060, on August 24th at 2:00pm ET, with visitation being two hours prior (12:00pm ET). Burial will be on site.
