Robert S Estes

Mr. Robert S. Estes, 84, of Marietta, GA passed away December 21, 2012. He was born on May 15, 1928 to the late Lessie and Samuel Estes in Douglasville, GA. Bob served honorably as a pilot in the US Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed a 40 year career with the Ivan Allen Company. An active member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for over 40 years, he taught the Margaret Yarbrough Sunday School class for many years. He was also a member of the Riverside Lodge in Jacksonville, FL and a Paul Harris Fellow. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Faye Clark Estes, twin children Steven and Sandra Estes and his parents. He is survived by his sons, Larry Estes (Debra Ellis) of Seattle, WA and Wayne Estes (Rita) of Bristol, TN, daughter, Marilyn Estes of Athens, GA, grandchildren, Natalie Samford, Alexandra, Steven, Allison and Jennifer Estes and dear friend Jackie Osborne and the Osborne family. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 7:00pm at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Marietta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Mt. Zion UMC or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are entrusted to H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill, 770-977-9485.
