It is with the deepest sorrow and a heavy broken heart that I must tell you of the passing of my wonderful husband, Thomas "Gary" Morton on Friday, December 6th. A funny, smart, sensible, sensitive guy, honest to a fault. A dependable, dedicated son, father, husband and best friend. Married for 38 years, two children Gary R. & Audrey.
After retirement from the banking industry, he dedicated his time to his love of sports. A certified soccer coach, he has volunteer coached NASA soccer for 8 years past the years when he coached his own kids. Usually, this was 4 teams, year round except summer. He has made many friends, players and coaches, who will miss him and his clear, fair, and patient guidance. His happiest moment this year was one of his teams winning the Rec Rocks 2013 regional championship, after many years of coming in at finalist levels. We were a team also. His funny, semi- laid back attitude, a perfect balance to my overly energetic, serious attitude. It has taken a week to inform you of this loss, I believe I was hoping to wake up and find it all back to normal, dull but normal. Please know that there is nothing that I need, I am surrounded by neighbors and friends of 26 years in the same neighborhood. Please do not send flowers or food or anything.Condolences can be sent to [email protected] lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be given to IndependenceFund.org or Pets-for-Vets.com. Memorial service on Monday, December 23rd at Patterson's/ Canton Hill, Marietta 10-11 visitation, 11-12 Service (www.hmpattersoncantonhill.com).Just please remember to notice everything, everyday and remain watchful of changes, no matter how slight. Sorry this sad note is so close to the holidays, but so it goes, life marches on.This was no ordinary life. This was a life well-lived and well-loved, a life that will be deeply missed.
