Tom was born to John Norton Pickron and Etrolia Brown Pickron in Tampa, Florida, where he attended Hillsborough High School and graduated with honors. He then attended the University of Florida, until he transferred to Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. It was here he graduated with his DDS, and and became a Doctor of Dentistry in 1963. After graduation, he entered the United States Air Force for 2 years, honorably discharging from service as a Capitan. He then returned to the Atlanta area, and thoroughly enjoyed practicing dentistry for the next 53 years. He loved his career and the people he served, but in 2016 he officially retired, so he could fill his days with friends and family on the beautiful Gulf shore of Florida. Everyone who knew Tom, knew he had an unwavering passion for his career in dentistry, but outside of work, he loved spending time in the kitchen cooking homemade meals, working in the garden, and relaxing in the sun.
Tom is survived by his wife, Linda M. Pickron; his loving daughter, who he adored: Dr. Allison Lindsey Robbins, (Casey); his brother, Dr. Robert Pickron, (Jade) and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.
The family is planning a private memorial at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you pause, enjoy some quality time with those you love, which is what Tom enjoyed above all.
HM Patterson Canton Hill is honored to serve the Pickron family during this difficult time.
