Tony was born in 1950 to Ralph and Louise Pickelsimer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 54 years, Brenda Pickelsimer; and his son, Kelly Pickelsimer.
A lifelong resident of the Marietta area, Tony graduated from Wheeler High School. In his early twenties, he followed in his father's footsteps and founded Tony Pickelsimer Drywall, a drywall contracting business that he owned and operated for more than 40 years. Tony and Brenda worked side by side building the business and serving their customers with dedication and integrity until their retirement in 2020.
Tony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished spending time and making memories with his family above all else. He was always planning for the next family get together whether it was at the lake, in the mountains for a gunshot, hanging at a car show or simply being together. He was known for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and deep love for the outdoors and the hobbies he enjoyed throughout his life. In his spare time, Tony loved traveling with his wife and best friend, Brenda, and pursuing his passion for classic cars, hunting, fishing, and firearms. One of Tony’s greatest joys was teaching his children and grandchildren how to hunt and fish, passing along his love for the simple outdoors. He was a tough man of true grit with a soft caring soul and a sense of humor like no other. He was the kind of man who could build or engineer almost anything from scratch and if he got hurt along the way, it was nothing a little superglue or duct tape couldn’t fix.
He is survived by his daughter, Tonya (Brian) Brannon; his grandchildren, Jessi (Hunter) Newsom, Dakota (Katie) Pickelsimer, Grayson Brannon, and Lilly Brannon; his great-grandchildren, Willow, Walker, Everett, Jack, and Shepherd; his sister, Barbara (Andy) Mitchell; and his nieces, Tammy and Lisa.
Tony leaves behind a legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel, with interment to follow at Georgia Memorial Park.
