Mr. Willis “Bill” Parks 97 of Smyrna died Sunday, July 7, 2013. Mr. Parks was a longtime resident of Smyrna and retired from MARTA (formerly known as Atlanta Transit) after 40 years of service. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. Mr. Parks was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Evelyn Parks and his daughter, Carolyn Parks Benson. He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Parks Cannady of Marietta, GA; son, Jerry Willis Parks of Canton, GA; grandchildren, Donna Benson Harrigan of Smyrna, GA; Jason Parks of Canton, GA ; Bryan Cannady of Denver, CO; seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home in Marietta with Rev. Bud Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:30 am till service time. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation in Bill’s honor.
