Barbara Lewis Harris Hilliard

She was born June 20, 1934 in McDowell County, NC to the late Guy Lewis and Harry and Eva Harris McCall. Barbara retired from General Electric. She loved life and was an avid square dancer. She was also a volunteer at Pardee Hospital where she was involved in the Lady's Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hilliard.

Surviving Barbara are her first husband, Jimmie Harris (Ruth) of Old Fort; three sons, Rick Harris (Leca) of Hendersonville, Michael Harris (Janet) of Olympia, WA and Jackie Harris of Old Fort; one daughter, Kathy Harris of the home; thirteen grandchildren, Chris Harris, Jared Harris, Brant Harris, Bradley Harris, Jennifer Harris, Jacob Harris, Julie Harris, Scott Camp, Kristie Williams, Quentin London, Leigh H. Henderson, Chase Harris and Sara Rae Harris; thirteen great-grandchildren with Jax on the way; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Edneyville Methodist Church. A Graveside Service will follow at 4:00 PM at McDowell Memorial Park with Rev. Walt Christian officiating.
