Dorothy Jane Ballew

Mrs. Ballew was born on January 18, 1944 in McDowell County, to the late Harlin and Virginia Harris Moody.

Mrs. Ballew was a sewer in the textile industry for most of her life.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a son; Gary Douglas Ballew, a daughter; Karen Ballew, a brother; Donald Moody, and a sister; Geraldine Simmons.

Mrs. Ballew is survived by her son; Brian Ballew of Marion, a brother; Jimmy Moody and wife Gloria of Cherokee, two sisters; Lorraine Forrester of Marion, Catheryn Moore and husband Dennis of Old Fort, a special cousin and friend; Wanda Kay Moody of Marion, five grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home Chapel in Marion, NC with Pastor Kris Hise officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Kirksey Funeral Home.
