Eddus Jane Cathey Pless

She was born July 8, 1926 in Haywood County to the late, William Frank Cathey and Carrie Hatchett Cathey. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Sam C. Pless of Marion.

Surviving are her sister, Carrie Cathey Watson of Idaho and her niece, Ann Barrier, who loved her like a mother, and Ann’s family, Tommy Barrier and wife, Heather and their children, Emily and Ethan and Susann Newton and husband Jeff and their children, Lora and Alex. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Pless will be treasured and remembered for her love for God, her love of people and her family. Also she will be remembered for her love for the piano and music that was an inspiration to her family and her church. We will remember her for her smile and optimistic attitude toward life.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. James Walker officiating. Burial will follow at West Court Baptist Church Cemetery.
