Emma Leslie Hendrix

Mrs. Hendrix was born February 23, 1923 in Cleveland County, NC to the late William H. Leslie and Lenora Jackson Leslie. She was a member of Nebo United Methodist Church where she served as the church Treasurer for many years and was active in the women’s group. She worked at the Marion and Nebo Post Offices until her retirement. Mrs. Hendrix was an avid reader and loved to travel. She also loved to sit on the front porch watching birds and animals and enjoying the view of the mountains.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, James A. Hendrix.

Surviving Mrs. Hendrix are two children, Stephen Hendrix and wife, Debby of Lewisville, NC and Elaine Arrowood and husband, Harold of Marion, NC; one granddaughter, Donna Hendrix; and a special friend, Georgia Finley. The family also wishes to thank the special caregivers that cared for her to the end.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion, NC with Rev. Rich Magnuson officiating. Burial will follow at the old Nebo Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
