Gary Bowman

Gary “Rick” Bowman, age 67, of Marion, NC, passed away Friday, September18, 2015 at his residence after several years of declining health.

Rick was born on June 7, 1948 in Graham County, NC to the late Arthur Bowman and Thelma Turpin Bowman and attended Glenwood School and Marion High School. He was reared in the Baptist faith and was an independent telephone contractor installing and programing systems in the southeast. His greatest hobby was to fish trout streams, rivers or oceans.

He is survived by his mother, Thelma Bowman, of Marion; a sister, Sue Price of Marion and a brother, Tony Bowman and his wife, Iris of Nebo.

Also surviving is his wife of 46 years, Gail Haynes Bowman and their son Bryan, his wife Breaa and daughter Alyssa. Many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends will remember and miss his unique personality.

The family will receive friends at their home, 96 Overlook Drive off of Hankins Rd. on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 1pm to 5pm. A Memorial Graveside Service will be announced at a later date.
