

Glenda Cordell Jackson, age 76, of Marion, died Monday February 2, 2015 at the Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center. She was born in Buncombe County to the late Harold and Zelma Cordell and she was raised in Pleasant Gardens, NC. She was a house wife and home maker and had a career with her husband in the Army. Glenda loved horses. Over the years, she enjoyed showing, riding, training, and breeding horses. She also gave riding lessons.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was also preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie “Boots” Creasman and an aunt, Ruth Rogers.
Surviving members of her family are her husband of 53 years, Dennis of the home; one son, Michael Jackson of Marion; a brother, Ken Cordell and wife, Babs McDonald and a nephew, Brad Cordell all of Athens, GA; nephews, Mark Cordell of New York, NY and Richard Glens and wife, Lynn of Midlothian, IL; nieces, Denice Albarado of Lockport, IL and Dona Anderson of Durango, CO; one aunt, Ruby Rhinehardt and husband, H.L. of Young Harris, NC; and numerous dear friends locally and around the country from her career with her husband in the US Army.
Memorialization will be by cremation with a service and interment to be announced at a later date.
Glenda had numerous charities she enjoyed helping but was always partial to helping her four legged friends, horses.
