Lailah Barrier McNeil, age 82, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully, at her residence, on Monday, March 20, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. McNeil was born on September 13, 1934, in Marion, NC, to the late James Barrier and Novella Huffman Barrier.

She worked in retail and was Baptist by faith.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Foster; and brothers, Carl Barrier, Ed Barrier, Bobby Barrier, and Claude Barrier.

Surviving Mrs. McNeil are her husband, Lawrence McNeil, of the home.; her son, Chuck (Kathy) McNeil of Carrollton, Ga.; brothers, Gene (Carol) Barrier of Berea, KY, and J. G. Barrier, of Hickory, NC; a grandson, Shawn McNeil of Carrollton, Ga.; a great-grandson, Logan McNeil; and a great-granddaughter, Haley McNeil.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 12:00 PM, at Kirksey Funeral Home, in Marion, NC, with the Reverend Dean Owenby officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at McDowell Memorial Park.
