
On the afternoon of March 27, 2019, with her children by her side, Laura Shirley Flack Mace was wrapped peacefully in the arms of Jesus and taken to join her mama, daddy, brothers, sisters, and one child.
Mrs. Mace was born in Rutherford County to the late I.K. Flack and Texie Jaynes Flack.
She retired from Broyhill, and she was a member of Dysartsville Baptist Church. Mrs. Mace obtained a GED at age 55.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Grady Brooks, Jr. (Jenney) and Shirley Brooks-Parker (Butch); seven grandchildren, Keith, Shane, Brian, Molly, Grady Dean, and Grace Mae and six great grandchildren, Tyler, Cole, Lela, Jay, Xander, and Sophia. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion with her grandson, Brian Parker, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Keith Ramsey, Shane Ramsey, Grady Dean Brooks, Cameron Flack, Eugene Flack, and Jason Capizzi.
