
Mary was born in Salina, Kansas and as a child moved to Charleston, WV. Later in life she lived in Florida and then moved to Hendersonville, NC to be with her daughter and family.
Mary was a member of First Baptist Church of Wildwood in Wildwood, FL. She was a tailor/seamstress for 60 years and loved to quilt. Since moving to Hendersonville, she and her grandson Nick made several quilts together.
In addition to her parents, Mary’s husband and oldest brother preceded her in death.
Survivors include children Theresa Ball and her husband, AJ, of Hendersonville, NC and Rodney Jones and his wife, Teresa, of St. Albans, WV; three grandsons, Nick Ball of Hendersonville, NC, Nate Ball and his wife, Liz, of Charleston, SC, and Dakota Jones of Huntington, WV; two great grandchildren, Cooper and Maclaine Ball of Charleston, SC; niece Beth Miller and sons Ben and Jack, of Hendersonville, NC; three siblings, Carl Goodholm and his wife, Peggy, and Nancy Edwards of Florida, and Judy Parker of Minnesota; 5 nephews and 7 nieces.
A memorial service was held celebrating Mary’s life on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Fruitland Baptist Church with the Rev Mike Smith and Associate Pastor Craig Stepp officiating.
