Mary Ann Wilkerson

Mary Ann Wilkerson, age 80, of Marion, NC went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 17, 2011, at White Oak Manor in Rutherfordton, NC. She was born September 3, 1930 in McDowell County to the late Lorn Edgerston and Lellian McDowell Edgerston.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wilkerson; her son, Dennis Edward Wilkerson; her daughter, Darlene Wilkerson; a grandson, Phillip Wilkerson; and a granddaughter, Tonya Siler.

Ms. Wilkerson is survived by two sons, Thomas Wilkerson and wife, Irene Rutherford Wilkerson of Forest City, NC and James R. Wilkerson of Knoxville, TN; three daughters, Linda Haley and husband, Lewis of Maryville, TN, Arlene Wilkerson of Knoxville, TN and Ednore Harris and husband, Curtis of Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Mable Hunt of Hendersonville, NC and Mavis McDowell of Washington, DC; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 21, 2011 Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James William officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
