Mildred Sparks Ornberg

Mildred was born April 18, 1924 in Marion, NC to the late Harrington and Nellie Sparks. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Wally Ornberg.

Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to dance and take the grandchildren on fun trips. She had many friends in both Orlando, FL and Marion, NC. The last couple years of her life she lived in Merritt Island, FL where she made many new wonderful friends at Courtenay Springs Village.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Carol Baker and husband, Tony of Satellite Beach, FL; two sons, Jerry Ornberg and wife, Donna of Mount Dora, FL and Michael Ornberg and wife, Ellen of Marion, NC; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey and Trevor Baker, Sandy Webster and husband, Todd, David Ornberg and wife, Kim, Cher LePage and husband, Glenn, Eli Ornberg, Jami Betchan and husband, Rodney; eight great-grandchildren, Zoe and Scout Ornberg, Peyton and Riley Webster, Dillon and Kaisie LePage and Emma and Lilliana Betchan; and one sister, Helen Rowland of Marion, NC.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion, NC. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
