Nettie Opal Poteat Lindsey

She was born April 18, 1929 in McDowell County, NC to the late Bruce Poteat and Tina Pyatt Poteat. Nettie was a longtime member of East Marion Baptist Church and a current member of Nebo Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and worked in gardening all her life.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Lindsey; one nephew, Ronnie Poteat; and one niece, Sheila Burleson.

Surviving Nettie are nieces, Krisha Stewart, Lilly Hollifield and Scotty Elmore and nephews, Thomas Burleson, Sidney Stewart, William Hollifield, Matthew Hollifield and Andrew Hollifield.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Nebo Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM at the church with Rev. Doug Worley officiating. Burial will be at McDowell Memorial Park.
