Violet R. Davis

She was born in McDowell County May 24, 1919 to the late W.P. and Amanda Burgin Walker.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband; William Earl Davis.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her sons Jack Davis, wife Doris, and Reid Davis, wife Dana; her daughter Sue Moffitt, husband Alan; brothers Kenneth Walker and Raymond Walker; her sisters Lelia Gilliam and Millie Painter; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren

Funeral service will be held on Thursday March 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Cherry Spring Baptist Church, with the Rev. Marty Conner officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday March 23, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home in Old Fort. Burial will follow at Cherry Springs Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family.
