Maribelle L. Sparks

Maribelle L. Sparks, 94 of Markle and formerly of Huntington passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 at the Markle Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Maribelle attended West Rock Creek High School. She had worked as an assembly operator at Wabash Magnetics for 23 years, retiring in 1988. Maribelle enjoyed bingo, bowling, playing cards and traveling to visit family. She loved spending time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She was born on December 9, 1925 in Huntington County, the daughter of LeRoy J. and Hattie E. (Broyles) Lahr. Maribelle was united in marriage to Vern E. Sparks on December 6, 1946 in VanBuren, Indiana. Vern preceded her in death on August 14, 1992. Survivors include: two sons: Max E. (Doris) Sparks of Huntington; James L. (Vicki) Sparks of Huntington; a daughter: Linda E. (John) Allen of Warren; four sisters: Delphia (Don) Marshall of Markle; Roseleen (Carl) Christen of Huntington; Melba Kay (Don) Bolding of Huntington; Crystal Tester of Huntington; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son: Danny J. Sparks; a sister: Ruby Sparks; three brothers: Roy Lahr, Meridith Lahr, Clarence “Bud” Lahr and a grandson: Jeremy Sparks. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 10:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service with Pastor Ethan Stivers and Gerald O. Moreland officiating at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel. Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington County.
