Myers Funeral Home

Miriam G. Hoopingarner, 89 of Uniondale, born July 2, 1928, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ for all eternity on February 13, 2018 at 8:46 in the evening. Miriam was married for 64 years to the love of her life, Everett “Dale” Hoopingarner who is celebrating her arrival in heaven today. Together they raised with love three children; Karen Sommers, a beautiful daughter whom Miriam was anxious to once again embrace and walk alongside on those “streets of gold.” Kent (Susan) Hoopingarner of Fort Wayne and Rick (Dana) Hoopingarner of Bluffton. Miriam had seven grandchildren which was her great joy as she watched them in their sporting events, get married and have her 18 great grandchildren. Those surviving are: Shane and Scott Sommers, Kyle and Brett Hoopingarner, Darrick and Cole Hoopingarner, and one granddaughter, Cylie Krug. Miriam was their biggest fan and their loudest cheerleader. Miriam was a 1946 graduate of East Rockcreek High School. She was a homemaker and mother who honored the Lord well by way of this mission. She counted it a wonderful privilege and considered moments to prepare family meals while keeping her home in order as one of high value and priceless honor. Miriam was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Uniondale. She respected and loved the body of Christ and looked forward to worshipping every Sunday with her extended family there. Miriam was fond of Harnish sweet corn and the Purdue Boilermakers. She enjoyed preparing for both of these seasons. If you were to go to her home on a Friday afternoon, you would not find her there as she would be at the Corner Depot in Bluffton with her best friend Annie Platt. She enjoyed talking to everyone she met, and having lasting relationships with those that were important in her life. Today we honor Miriam and join along with her celebration in heaven as we remember her 89 years on earth. We can only imagine what it will be like! Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 5912 N. Sugar Street, Uniondale, Indiana. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, following visitation at 11:00 am at the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Jarrod Ball officiating. Interment will be at the Horeb Cemetery in Uniondale at a later date. Memorial donations can be made out to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church or School of Jericho both in care of Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 403, Markle, IN 46770.
