

Clint Warren Blann, 88, of Marlin, passed away Saturday July 30, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Marlin with Pastor Michael Estep and Thomas Giovannitti officiating.
Clint was born on October 4, 1927 to Richard Adelle and Ruth (Lansford) Blann in Marlin, Texas. He grew up in Marlin where he graduated from Marlin High School. Clint went to Texas A&M and was class of 1948. Clint followed his father in the newspaper business and retired after 35 years from Austin American Statesman in Austin, Texas. While in Austin, Clint married Hilda Guerrero in 1980 and raised two daughters and a son. In 1984 Clint started a new career as a real estate appraiser for the Cameron County appraisal District in San Benito, Texas. He retired from the district in 1992 and they moved to Marlin. While working full time Clint raised cattle, was an avid golfer, and a loyal Aggie football fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Brother Jack, and grandson Matthew.
Clint is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Hilda, daughters; Laura and husband Sam Hutchins, Phyllis and husband Alan Crawford, and son; Bruce Blann, sister; Jane and husband, Jimmy Curry, sister-in-law; Lavonne Blann, grandchildren; Austin Henderson and wife, Natalie, Duke Ness and wife, Erika, Brad Hutchins and wife, Marie, Greg Hutchins and wife, Stefanie, Brent Hutchins, Lori Fetterman and husband, Cody, Sheila Crockett and husband Terry, twelve great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Austin Henderson, Duke Ness, Greg Hutchins, Brad Hutchins, Brent Hutchins, Corry Fetterman, Craig Fetterman, and Taylor Henderson. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Bill Logins, James Wilkey, Jerry Guerrero, and Billie John Richardson.
