Hershel W. "Cotton" Bolden

Hershel W. (Cotton) Bolden, 75, of Marlin entered into rest Sunday, December 30, 2012. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Thomas Blann officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday at Adams Funeral Home.

Cotton was born April 17, 1937 in Marlin to William (Bill) and Georgia Mae Wiggleton Bolden. He married Alice Perez in 1961. Cotton retired from the Marlin Fire Department after 26 years of service. He loved fishing and spending time with his family at the farm. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cotton was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years Alice Bolden of Marlin; son, David Bolden and wife Susan Flores Bolden of Houston; daughter, Laura Bettge and husband Dale Bettge of West; sisters, Barbara Pelzel of Belton, Sue Williams of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Joseph David Bolden, Jacob David Bolden, Jaimie Bettge and Garrett Bettge; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Pallbearers will be Joseph David Bolden, Jacob David Bolden, Garrett Bettge, Jaimie Bettge, Brad Irwin, Woodie Blann, and Ben Markowski.
