Octavia Amaya-Silerio, age 47 of Rosebud, earned her halo and angel wings on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was accompanied during her final heartbeats by her husband, all of her children, and dearest family members.
Octavia was born on November 20, 1977 to Bertha and Manuel Amaya. She graduated from Chilton High School. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother (better known as “Ama”), daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She had an outgoing and fun personality that was usually ended with side-splitting sarcasm. Her presence always lit up the room and the smiles of anyone within earshot of her jokes. She was loyal to those she loved and a very fierce mama bear. She took great pride in her family and all of their accomplishments, for most of which, she was the believer of those successes. She raised her children to be strong & independent just like herself. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. Thanksgiving will never be the same without her putting her foot in it! Octavia was a very passionate woman and the biggest fan of all her children in their sporting ventures. She could often be heard in the stands yelling at her kids to “get it together” or cursing at a costly mistake in the game. She was proud to be a softball mom and spent a lot of time at the softball fields with her daughter Kloe. She was her #1 fan and never missed a game. She was a dreamer, a competitor, and a believer, who always pushed her loved ones to be the best they could be, no matter what life threw at us. To know her was to love her!
Octavia was preceded in death by her beloved son Jacob Lopez but her passing brings some comfort knowing they will be reunited in GOD’s kingdom. She is survived by her husband Jose Lopez. Sons: Benjamin Chavez, Alex Chavez, & Matthew Lopez. Daughters: Megan Lopez, Kloe Lopez, Vivian Griffin, Natalie Perez, and Adreanna Amezcua. Grandchildren: Amari, Rosalia, Mica, Sebastian, and one on the way. Mother Bertha Amaya. Sisters: Vanessa Amaya and Claudia Carter. Brothers: Manuel Amaya, San Fidel Amaya, and Max Amaya. She also leaves behind many nephews and nieces who she adored.
