Ruby Jean Peters Pursche

Funeral service will be Sunday, July 30, at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel with Pastor Robert Kitson officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 29 at Adams Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Riesel.

Ruby was born March 23, 1928 to Tom and Emma (Clark) Peters in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Ruby married the love of her life, Roy Henry Pursche, on Nov. 11, 1948 after falling in love through letters that they wrote each other while Roy was serving in the Navy during WWII. They celebrated 68 wonderful years of marriage and had three beautiful children together. Ruby was a longtime resident of Riesel and a faithful and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. For 16 years she worked as an employee and manager in the cafeteria of Riesel ISD. She was a member of the German Heritage Club, served as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of LWML for several years. Ruby loved her church, friends and her family unconditionally. She always said her family was the light of her life and she especially cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known by many for her kind heart and willingness to drop everything to help out others. Ruby was truly, one of a kind.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dwight Pursche; granddaughter, Jennifer Pursche; brother, Ray Peters and his wife, Nadine; sister, Lillian Reavis and her husband Harold; sister, Betty Nimerick and her husband Charlie.

Ruby leaves behind to cherish her memories, husband, Roy Henry Pursche of Riesel; son, Phillip Pursche of Riesel; daughter, Janet Drapela and husband Gary of Riesel; grandchildren: Angela Harp and husband Dennis, Crystal Pursche, JD Pursche and wife Sarah, Taylor Drapela, Dylan Drapela, and Cody Drapela; great-grandchildren: Aaron and Peyton Harp, Jon and Cooper Pursche; Gavyn and Grant Tijerina.

Ruby was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly.
