Althea Breaux Wilson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Warren B. Wilson. Loving mother of Patrick J. Power (Shelly). Stepmother of the late Philip Wilson. Grandmother of Patrick J. Power, Jr. (Amber), Timothy L. Power and Dawn W. Manuel. Great grandmother of Damien Patrick, Kingston Patrick and Bodhi Patrick. Daughter of the late James Monroe and Lydia Dunn Breaux. Sister of the late Emma VanVrancken, Vivian Vaccaro, Ethelyn Dauphin, Isabella Wilson, Vincent Breaux, Edward Breaux, Thurman Breaux, Mary Breaux, Clarence (CJ) Breaux, James Monroe Breaux, Jr. and Fred Breaux. Also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews. Althea was born and raised in the Irish Channel of New Orleans and was a resident of the Westbank for over forty years. She attended St. Alphonsus and Redemptorist High School. She retired from USF&G after thirty-five years of service. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. Althea enjoyed trips to the casino with family and friends, dancing and traveling. She will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring and loving spirit, her laughter and talking about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they all were the apple of her eye. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services being held at WESTSIDE LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME located at 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be from 10:00am-1:00pm. Interment at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna will follow.
