Mrs. Anna Ruth Nunez Harvey

Anna Ruth Nunez Harvey went home to her Lord on Thursday, September 26, 2013. Anna was born June 28, 1927 to Leon Nunez and Rachel Adam Nunez. She was a lifelong resident of her favorite place in the world, Lafitte. She was the beloved wife of the late William H. Harvey, Sr. Precious mother of William H. Harvey, Jr. (Brenda), Leon J. Harvey, Sr. (Corliss), Jane H. Rimmer (Michael), and the late Nathan C. Harvey. Devotedly loyal sister of Jules Nunez (Louella). Her greatest treasure in life were her 11 grandchildren; Dawn Harvey, Anita Anselmo, Kylie Perre, William Harvey, III, Leon Harvey, Jr., Andrea Kuhn, Vicky Kerner, Nathan Harvey, Jr., Ashley Harvey, Benjamin Jones, and Jeanette Rimmer; 12 Great-grandchildren, and 2 sets of 5 Generations, concluding with Mia Rose Cheramie & Julia Schlackman. Anna is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, and her Godchildren: Gordon Rojas, Trudy Bourgeois, and Darlene Boutte. Special thoughts are sent to her loving friend Carolina Deleon, and her lifelong friend, the late Gwen Boudlauch. Anna loved life and knew how to have fun. She blessed all of us by sharing this gift and her gift of strength. We will forever feel an emptiness that only she could fill. She was a Devoted Catholic, and cooked and took care of Ave Maria Retreat House for 16 years. She was also employed by the Town of Jean Lafitte and the Lafitte Tourist Center, where she enjoyed many special relationships. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of her life at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafitte. Viewing will be from 6:00 P.M. until 11:00 P.M. on Monday, September 30, 2013 and again on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 8:00 AM and will follow with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Pius X Cemetery. The family would like to express a sincere gratitude to the staff of Wynhoven Health Care Facility and Notre Dame Hospice for the care given to our mother.
