Our beloved Anthony Bradley, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his daughter’s home in Zachary, Louisiana, on January 2, 2026. Endearingly known as “Ant,” Anthony was a devoted single father whose life was defined by his deep love for his children and his passion for the great outdoors. Anthony was also formerly married to Patricia Bradstreet. His spirit lives on through his children; Ishacoyah Adeyanju (shared with Georgia Angela Walker Adeyanju), Amber Bradley (shared with Felicia Williams), and Azariah Bradley (shared with Willette Wing), and his cherished granddaughters, Nyla Dawson and Nirvana Knox.
Anthony was born on February 11, 1953, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Louis Bradley, Sr. and Mildred Sanders Bradley. He graduated from Belle Chasse High School and attended Grambling University before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, following the example of his elder brothers, Louis “Spike” Bradley, Jr. and Gregory Bradley, who served in the U.S. Army during the same conflict. Anthony was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, the Philippines, and the South China Sea during the Vietnam War. He served honorably as a Marine Corporal with 3rd Battalion, 9th Marines (3/9), part of the 3rd Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force Pacific (FMFPac), and later played a meaningful role in the heroic rescue operation of the hijacked SS Mayaguez in 1975.
Genuine, humble, and quietly courageous, Anthony found joy and peace in nature; hunting, fishing, and appreciating the world outdoors. He lived by the principles of service, humility, self-sufficiency, and resourcefulness, leaving a lasting imprint on all who knew him. After his military service, Anthony devoted himself to healthcare, serving his community as a nurse with Belle Chasse Metropolitan Center, Charity and University Hospitals, and Riverbend Nursing Home in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
Anthony’s legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, including his siblings Melvina Johnson, Mable Odgen, Gregory Bradley, Eric Bradley, Rosalind Smith, Roland Bradley, Byron Bradley Sr., Stephanie Watts, and Ericka Martin, along with an army of devoted nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends who loved him immensely.
Anthony was predeceased by his beloved parents, Louis Bradley, Sr. and Mildred Sanders Bradley; his brother “Spike” Louis Bradley Jr.; his sister Glynda Marie Bradley; and nephews Brian Johnson and Louis Bradley III, brother in law Charles Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his longtime partner, Eugenia Ross, and by Georgia Angela Walker Adeyanju and Felicia Williams. May they all rest together in eternal peace.
